Greenland’s Rare Earth Opportunity and Why Motzfeldt Matters

Greenland is increasingly recognised as one of the most strategic jurisdictions globally for rare earths and other critical minerals.

Within that landscape, Alba Mineral Resources holds a standout position as majority owner of the Motzfeldt Critical Metals Project in southern Greenland.

Motzfeldt is a large, mineralised system with known enrichment in rare earths and associated critical metals, notably niobium and tantalum, located in a stable, well-regulated jurisdiction that actively supports responsible mineral development. The project benefits from scale, geological pedigree, and growing technical understanding built through systematic, science-led work.

As governments and industries look to secure future supply chains outside China, high-quality rare earth projects in credible jurisdictions are becoming increasingly scarce. Greenland is one of the few places where scale, geology and governance align, and Motzfeldt is a clear example of that alignment.

Our focus at Motzfeldt for the coming year is to continue our programme of cutting-edge exploration led by our team of rare earth experts, to generate robust data and long-term value creation. Our objective is to move Motzfeldt from the exploration to the development stage over the next 12-18 months.
